Learn from those who have gone before you! We've "walked the walk" internationally and will teach you what we've learned so you can begin your implementation process. You’ll learn ways to overcome implementation challenges and what you should ask your vendors to ensure they're as ready for the transition as you are. You'll get not only a vendor but also a provider prospective.

This session will highlight the key strategies utilized to implement ICD-10 in the international market; both from a vendor and provider prospective. It will examine "big picture" conversion challenges and successes, along with strategies and best practices to adopt and apply to the US conversion process. Lyman Sornberger from Cleveland Clinic Health Systems will share the International experience from a provider perspective; specifically their workflow process as they "go live" in 2012. Lyman will be joined by a clinical representative from Wolters Kluwer Health, a company who has already completed the ICD-10 transition internally to accommodate ICD-10 internationally. This session will also provide a checklist of the key implementation details to consider as well as a sample vendor readiness checklist, which contains critical questions to ask vendors before the transition.
