2009 HCPCS Level II Coding Update Has Been Released!

The 2009 HCPCS level II annual update has been released! This update includes approximately 140 new codes, 178 modified codes and 73 deleted codes.

Among the new codes released there are several related to manual wheelchairs (E2230, E2231, and E2295), surgical pathology (G0416-G0419), injections (J0641, J1267, J1459, etc), and skin substitutes (Q4100-Q4114). Many of the modified codes pertain to supplies, Oncology status codes, and injections. Several C-code injections (C9237-C9244) have been deleted along with end-stage renal disease G-codes (G0308-G0327) and dermal substitute tissue J-codes (J7341-7349).

To view these code changes in CCH Coding Comply, go to the Search Code Sets tab, select the HCPCS Level II code set, select Added, Modified, and/or Deleted from the Filter Actions and in the Start Date enter 01/01/2009. From the Search Results screen, you can choose to export your search results, including associated revenue codes, into an Excel or Text format for easy implementation into your CDM.
