Wolters Kluwer Law & Business is excited to announce recent enhancements to the CCH Coding Comply product that is available via the CCH Internet Research Network and the CCH and MediRegs Coding and Revenue Resource Center and Audit and Revenue Resource Center.

Coding Comply has been enhanced to include functionality that will provide users with a record of all codes that are current as of a specific date. This means that if you have a denied claim for October 1, 2008, you can search to find all codes within a particular code set that were active on that date. This functionality has been applied to all code sets included in Coding Comply, such as APC, CPT and HCPCS.

This new functionality has been added to the Refine Search box on the "Search Code Sets" tab. The current search functionality is now the default in the refine search options but can be deactivated by unchecking the "Return active codes effective as of" box. This will enable the traditional search in Coding Comply that will return all results for a particular code, historical, current, and deleted unless narrowed via the Filter Actions fields. The new current code search allows users to input a specific date and the search results they receive will display only the codes that are active on that date; thus removing any codes with a deleted status or the historical information for past versions of a code from the search.

In addition to the search enhancements the historical code set download via zip files have also been modified. The new files can now be located under the "Download Code Set History and Current Codes" heading on the home tab of Coding Comply. When a code set download is chosen, two file options—one containing current codes as of today’s date and one containing the history of the code set—will be available.

More specific directions for using the new current code search and zip files are available in updated versions of the Help screen and the Quick Start Guide that is available in the "Downloads, Sign-Ups, and Links" heading on the home tab of Coding Comply.

This is a feature that has often been requested by customers and we are excited to deliver this new functionality and hear back from you your opinions that can further improve the search functionality in Coding Comply. Enjoy!
